It is Christmas party season – did you know that? I am pretty sure that Mark and I have a Christmas party to go to every weekend right up until Christmas Day.
We love to bring snacks to parties but wanted to find something different to make this year. Mark’s favorite appetizer is Jalapeño Poppers, so we had the genius idea to make Jalapeño Popper Wontons Recipe to bring to a party, using only 4 ingredients!
The ingredients are simple – here are the four you will need for this Jalepeno Popper Recipe:
- Pillsbury Cresent Rolls
- Lindsay Sliced Jalapeño Peppers
- Cheddar Cheese
- Cream Cheese
I went to my local Price Chopper Supermarkets store to get the ingredients – just in case you didn’t know where these items are located, you can find the Pillsbury Crescent Rolls in the Refrigerated Section of the grocery store.
The Lindsay Peppers are located right near the pickles in the aisle that has the condiments. Hopefully this will help you find the ingredients easily.
Let me walk you through this step by step:
First, grab a handful of japapeno’s (but don’t use your bare hands – it can burn) and blot them with a paper towel to remove as much liquid as you can, and then dice them. You can take the seeds out if you prefer – the seeds make it spicier. Remember to alwys be careful working with jalapeno peppers, the oils can get on your hands and if you happen to rub your eyes – you will get the oils in your eyes and that hurts a lot!
Add the diced Jalapeño peppers (about 1/3 cup) into 4 oz of cream cheese, and 3 oz of shredded cheddar cheese. Mix together – this will be the filling for your wontons.
Next, take the Pillsbury Crescent Rolls out of their package, try to keep them in tact if possible. Unroll onto a floured surface with a rolling pin and pinch together the seems of the rolls with your fingers, that way you prevent the filling from leaking out. Then cut them into 32 equal squares.
Add filling to each square and seal together to make the shape of a won ton. I used water to wet my finger tips before sealing them together, that seems to work really well in keeping them together.
Next you are going to make a sweet dipping sauce – this is optional but it is SO good. If you look around online for a berry sauce recipe, you are going to find some super complicated ones that require you to add a lot of ingredients and simmering on the stove top. I have a simple hack for you – place 1 cup of frozen strawberries in the microwave for 2 minutes. Then add 1 Tbsp osf sugar and blend with an immersion blender and until smooth. Press through a wire stainer and there ya go – same sauce with less work!
Here is a printable recipe card for you to print off and save for later!

Mark says they are AMAZING and he knows his Jalapeño Poppers! The price of fun little frozen appetizers can be SO expensive (I saw a box of 16 for $10.00 the other day!), so hopefully this can be a less expensive option for you to bring to that Christmas party this year!
