Some people don’t camp because they get frustrated but the lack of space and having to store things wherever they fit rather than where makes sense.
If you need something medical, it should be near or around the bathroom, but sometimes you just don’t have a big bathroom closet.
If you are making a yummy skillet dinner and need spices, they should be in the kitchen or near the cooking location, but you may not have enough room in the cupboards and drawers.
The solution to being a happy camper and enjoying every camping trip? Budget camping storage ideas so you never have to camp without the things you want and need!
1. Simple Bathroom Baskets
Found on Apartment Therapy
You’ve got plenty of camping gear to store, and you can use hanging baskets to make room for everything you need.
Check out these budget-friendly storage ideas. It allows space to be cleared off your sink area and into individual baskets and there are so many ways you can use for your own bathroom at home too.
It’s better to have less items floating around the RV, trust me!
The first one that catches my eye right away is the small bottle organizer (the black blasket). You can clearly see all of the bottles easily and keeps them in a tight storage area that isn’t rolling around in a drawer.
The other camping storage solution you can easily try today is the hand towel bar with various hanging baskets.
2. Dollar Store Bins For Cutlery (Or Bathroom Toiletries)
Found on The Elm Life
These dollar store storage bins are really the best! Not only did I use them in my classroom, but I use them at home in almost all of my drawers.
They are long and narrow and make it great to organize anything that will fit, but you can find a variety of sizes at most dollar stores to fit into any drawers you have.
Those big, chunky silverware organizers might not fit in your camper or camp kitchen drawer because they are smaller than what you normally have in a full kitchen.
Use these bins to maximize your space and have all the utensils you need and more on your next camping adventure.
Another camping hack, if you just need to bring the forks and knives to the picnic table it is so much easier than bringing over the entire kitchen drawer.
3. Magazine Racks On Cabinet Doors
Found on Good House Keeping
Make use of camping storage spaces that you would never think of using.
The inside of a cabinet door, genius!
Metal magazine holders are so versatile and I love them being used here for tall items that get used frequently while camping.
You want to make sure you are not wasting food while camping, and we always have cling wrap and plastic bags for saving leftovers- and never forget foil to cook over that open fire!
Just make sure that you are able to still shut the door without disturbing anything in the interior cabinet. Measure before you make anything permanent.
4. Tension Rod With Key Rings Or Clips (Think Curtain Rod For Anything!)
Found on The Happy Housie
When walking through the beauty department at the grocery store, it is crazy to think about all the different bottle styles that manufacturers use to sell their products.
This organization hack is great for small bottles like you see above, which makes sense since you don’t want to lug around a lot of big bottles while you camp.
At home I normally buy the big plastic bottles, however, these are perfect to get off the shower storage or side of the shower and up hanging.
You are also getting the most of your money with this setup because you are using everything to the very last drop as gravity grabs all of the product.
The rings used above are easy curtain rings so you know they are heavy-duty enough to hold up a shampoo bottle.
5. Turntable For Your Cabinet (Or All Of Them!)
Found on Life Buzz
Metal turntables are the perfect camping storage idea for small cabinets or spaces. You are able to load it up with different size bottles and bottles that might have weird shapes.
And since it rotates, you have more items in the small space than you did before!
Give it a spin and you are able to see everything in front of you with one quick turn.
Just be sure you get a turntable with sides so nothing tips over while moving- two-tier ones are better for tall cabinets and closets, like you see above, but you can also get a one-tier turntable.
6. Hanging Wall For The Bathroom, Kitchen, Or Bedroom
Found on Home Garden Magz
One of the most simple camping organization hacks is to make use of vertical space. There aren’t many drawers or closets in some campers, but what about wall space?
That’s prime real estate for your next camping trip! Why keep that wall in the kitchen blank when you can maximize it with some cute baskets for storage.
Picking an organizer depends on the wall dimensions and what you are looking to organize in your space. If you have more wall space, you’ve got room to store bigger camping gear besides just food, spices, toiletries, and
7. Closet Organizers- Perfect for the Kitchen Or Bathroom Cupboards
Found on RV Share
Wow, a storage compulsives dream camping solution method for the closet! Everything has a place and your camping gear will fit much better with these drawers.
I love the idea of filling this closet with the plastic organizing drawers, so much better than hanging clothes and wasting all of that space below.
If you look closely enough, you can see the drawers are also all clearly labeled, you’ve got to love never having to dig around and frantically search for things on your next camping trip.
8. Best Camping Organization Hack: Pegboard In Under Storage Walls
Found on Glamper Love
I do not think I have seen anything more brilliant for camping storage ideas than the one above! Camping gear could be stored just as well as your tools and gear in your garage at home.
First of all, can we talk about the floor of this storage cabinet? I love that they laid down like peel and stick flooring.
Makes it very easy to clean if something were to spill or leak.
Then, to add to it, the pegboard on the side walls of the cabinet makes it perfect for all the necessary tools and equipment you need for your RV, truck, or around the campsite.
Easy to grab and everything has a permanent location, plus you can get a few pegboard bins to add even more usability to it.
9. Corner Shower Shelf In Bathroom (Or In Any Room!)
Found on RV Inspiration
I know you have seen these before in the shower, but have you ever thought about using them out of the shower as a corner shelf in your camper.
Again, utilize space that you normally would not think of and everything will be within reach easily- including the toilet paper in the bathroom!
This corner shower shelf they repurposed in the bathroom to hold a plant, toilet paper, and wipes. You could also use one in the kitchen for spices, napkins, and paper products.
We’ve also used a hanging shoe rack, but it can move around more when the RV is being towed, so this shelf is more sturdy if that’s what you’re looking for
10. Storage Containers For Health Supplies & Toiletries
Found on Life’s Simple Pleasures
Again with the labels! Let the hallelujah choir sing! These storage containers are the perfect size for organizing medical supplies.
You never know what you might come down with while camping and a drug store might not be an option that you could get to quickly.
By looking at the outside of the boxes, you could quickly grab a band-aid container in time of need rather than digging through a box of stuff you brought.
11. Bottle Solutions For Your Too-Small Shower
Found on Amazon
Another shower or bottle solution storage idea that I could not pass up! It can save space so easily just by being stuck on the wall!
We currently use them in our home shower and I thought to myself this is the best solution for camping trips. I’ve even wondered if they’d work in our bathroom for sunscreen and lotion in addition to shampoo and conditioner.
If you have a trailer, fifth wheel, or RV, you never have to worry about bottles cluttering the shower. Refill before your next trip with bottles you already have at home.
12. Build Additional Storage Space In Every Nook & Cranny
Found on KHomes
Adding new storage shelves in your camp kitchen (or at home!) will make more storage wherever you need it.
A DIY camping storage idea that you can create for any extra space in your camper that you can build additional storage.
On the side of their kitchen, they saw the potential to add additional storage that wasn’t originally there.
They built in a smart storage solution for their most-used camping items, including plates, cups, plastic bags, and more.
Since it’s right by the door, you also don’t have to go into the camper to get the stuff you need most often.
13. Magnets For Spice Jars, Knives, & More
Found on Decoratio
Maybe you’re looking for less storage bins and something to use wall space more effectively- even the little walls in the camp kitchen have potential for more!
The last camping space saver on my list is the use of magnets as a storage solution. There is a magnetic strip on the back of the wall behind the stove to hold the knives.
There are also magnets on the back of the spices to fixate to the wall mount. Both are brilliant uses of space and will be good for traveling.
